As our nation goes through this COVID 19 pandemic, many of us have caused their livelihood to stop and business to shut down. For months, our day to day lives have changed as we were mandated to stay home for our own safety. The demand on our basic needs has increased abruptly while supply has decreased simultaneously. With that said, people start to hoard supplies, afraid of being left with nothing.
During the time, I noticed that one of the major supplies was disinfecting alcohol. This was said to help kill or atleast prevent from virus infection by always disinfecting our hands. As people hoard, supply of these became extremely low, especially to those with higher percentages of alcohol content and liquid volume. Obviously because production of larger bottles for these alcohol costs more in materials, time spent, and low quantity produced than those smaller one. As a result, finding a higher liquid volume of alcohol is a needle in a haystack.
Today, as we slowly build ourselves back up, many have started new business that is relevant to what is necessary. Some resells face masks, face shields, vitamins, sanitizers, alcohol and the like, in order to make ends meet. With that said, I also came up with an idea or solution to re-use our growing empty alcohol bottles we currently have in our home. With the right planning, costing, and alcohol supplier, I might build my own alcohol refilling station. For starters, like myself, this could be very friendly to the total budget. It not only requires less manpower, equipment, machinery, furnitures and fixtures, it is also easy to set-up. This business would be efficient in solving the growing trash of alcohol bottles in our community. I will also use this business as a platform to collect people's unwanted plastic bottles and/or containers. I might also give discounts as an exchange.
By only doing refilling, production of plastic containers will be reduced and recycling or reusing will be practiced. This will not only help lessen the excess plastic container in our home but also to the community as a whole.
Promoting a new business is hard. You need to establish the right branding so you would know how to start promoting. Usually, social media platforms are most helpful. With the assistance of a social media manager and proper social media management and marketing plan, your promotions will run smoothly. In addition, paid and organic advertisements could boost your business to a better reach. Organic Ad Campaign would be best beneficial for start up business as it doesn't cost much. As a freelancer, I would suggest that social media be the major marketing channels, as this not only reaches thousands of users, but to the entire world.
